Rapid City je drugi po veli\u010dini grad u Ju\u017enoj Dakoti (nakon Sioux Fallsa) i sjedi\u0161te okruga Pennington. Poznat kao "Kapija Crnih brda" i "Grad predsjednika", podijeljen je niskim planinskim grebenom koji dijeli zapadni i isto\u010dni dio grada. Ellsworth Air Force Base nalazi se na periferiji grada. Kamp Rapid, dio Nacionalne garde Ju\u017ene Dakote, nalazi se u zapadnom dijelu grada. Istorijski grad Deadwood na "starom zapadu" je u blizini. U susjednom Black Hills-u su popularne turisti\u010dke atrakcije Mount Rushmore, Memorijal Crazy Horse, Dr\u017eavni park Custer i Nacionalni park Wind Cave.<\/p>\n
