Moab<\/strong>\u00a0is a city in\u00a0Grand County, in eastern\u00a0Utah, in the western United States. The population is 5,046. It is the\u00a0county seat\u00a0and largest city in Grand County. Moab attracts a large number of tourists every year, mostly visitors to the nearby\u00a0Arches\u00a0and\u00a0Canyonlands\u00a0National Parks. The town is a popular base for\u00a0mountain bikers\u00a0who ride the extensive network of trails including\u00a0Slickrock Trail, and off-roaders who come for the annual\u00a0Moab Jeep Safari.<\/p>\n

Moab, Utah, is smack in the middle of Arches, Canyonlands and a hundred other sandstone adventures.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re going to Arches National Park, you\u2019re going to Moab. If you\u2019re going to Canyonlands National Park, and you\u2019re not hiding out from the authorities in some desolate corner of the Maze, you\u2019re probably staying in Moab. The weird grandeur of these two federal designations is documented elsewhere \u2014 just know that you need to see them both in person, twice, before you die. Dead Horse Point, too.<\/p>\n

The national parks don\u2019t have a monopoly on the area\u2019s best treks. \u00a0You must see Negro Bill Canyon, Hunter Canyon, Corona\/Bowtie Arch, Fisher Towers.. Alsou you must \u00a0experience Whitewater rafting or kayaking. Uniquely positioned to access both the Green and Colorado Rivers. See: Westwater, Cataract Canyon, Desolation Canyon<\/p>\n

Peak tourist season is March 15 through May Sept and Oct. still busy in the summer but not as crazy as spring and fall.\u00a0 The summer slows a bit because temperatures can easily average 105 degrees.<\/p>\n

Moab has plenty of hotels\/motels that line Maine Street.\u00a0 Most everything in town (lodging, food, shopping, tour guides) reside off of Main Street in Moab.\u00a0 If the hotel\/motel of choice resides on Main Street (or just off of Main Street) you could technically be within walking distance of everything you would need.<\/p>\n
