Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel are located in York Country, the southernmost county in the state of Maine. York County encompasses 1023.4 square miles in an area bordered on the southeast by the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by New Hampshire, on the northeast by Cumberland County, Maine, and on the north by Oxford County.<\/p>\n

The Kennebunks have easy access to major highways, rail lines, and airports. Nearby I-95 (the Maine Turnpike) links the area to Portland, Boston and New York City.<\/p>\n

The Kennebunks are fortunate to have fine sandy beaches. Kennebunk residents need beach permits to park along Kennebunk beaches during the summer. Visitor passes are available at the town offices and the Chamber of Commerce during business hours. Permits are also required at Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport and may be obtained at the Kennebunkport Police Station.<\/p>\n

There are also many performing arts venues in the area and numerous museums and galleries, including the Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk and the Kennebunkport Historical Society in Kennebunkport.<\/p>\n

Downtown Kennebunk is where you\u2019ll find the thriving Farmers Market from spring to fall, numerous events from May Day to Old Home Days to Winterfest, and ice skating at the Main Street rink in the winter. During the summer months, a shuttle runs from downtown to Lower Village, for residents and visitors alike who wish to take in all that the area has to offer without having to worry about parking.\u00a0 And speaking of parking, free municipal parking is available at the former Garden Street Market parking lot and behind Perfecto\u2019s and Frameworks at the corner of Main and Grove streets.<\/p>\n
