Keystone\u00a0is a town in the\u00a0Black Hills\u00a0region of\u00a0Pennington County,\u00a0South Dakota,\u00a0United States. \u00a0It had its origins in 1883 as a mining town, and has since transformed itself into a resort town, serving the needs of the millions of visitors to\u00a0Mount Rushmore National Memorial, which is located just beyond city limits.<\/p>\n

The town took its name from a local mine, which most likely was named after the keystone\u00a0Masonic symbol.<\/p>\n

Things you can doo in Keystone : You can visit Devils Tower, Devils Tower rises 1267 feet above the Belle Fourche River. Once hidden, erosion has revealed Devils Tower. This 1347 acre park is covered with pine forests, woodlands, and grasslands. Deer, prairie dogs, and other wildlife are seen. Also known as Bears Lodge, it is a sacred site for many American Indians. President Theodore Roosevelt proclaimed Devils Tower the first national monument in 1906.<\/p>\n

Also, For over 50 years The Stables at Palmer Gulch has provided fun trail rides into the most beautiful places in the Black Hills National Forest.
