Harrison is a city in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. A\u00a0Fun Little Resort Town Where the Trail Meets the Lake. Nestled at the mouth of the Coeur d\u2019Alene River, on the southeast end of Lake Coeur d\u2019Alene, lies the picturesque town of Harrison. Once a landing for steamers, the community remains a port, but now many pleasure boats tie up at the marina and cruise the clear waters.<\/p>\n

The tiny city of Harrison is the perfect getaway, where people come to relax and have fun with family and friends on south end of Lake Coeur d’Alene. Harrison is known as a favorite place for boating, floating, fishing, swimming, cycling, and sightseeing. There is also live music and dancing on summer nights when local hot spots have bands on weekends and holidays. Harrison has public docks, a boat launch, shoreline campground, sandy beach, and relaxing, friendly atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Harrison is a popular base for cyclists riding the 72-mile Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, a paved rail-trail that stretches across the Idaho Panhandle. Cycle, hike, or roller blade along the lake over the sweeping Chatcolet Bridge seven miles south, to historic Heyburn State Park, where you can spend the day swimming in the lake and hiking on forested trails. The folks at Harrison Trading Post will outfit you with drinks, deli salads, snacks, and sandwiches on house-made bread for the trip.<\/p>\n

When you’re not on the water or the recreational trail, there’s dining on a deck overlooking the lake, local wine tasting, historic museum, art gallery, ice cream shop, shady park with playground, and fun places to shop, all within an easy walk of the lake and trail.<\/p>\n
