Nevada\u00a0 is a\u00a0state\u00a0in the\u00a0Western,\u00a0Mountain West, and\u00a0Southwestern\u00a0regions of the\u00a0United States of America. Nevada is the\u00a07th most extensive, the\u00a035th most populous, and the\u00a09th least densely populated\u00a0of the\u00a050 United States. Nearly three-quarters of Nevada’s people live in\u00a0Clark County, which contains the\u00a0Las Vegas\u2013Paradise metropolitan area where three of the state’s four largest incorporated cities are located. \u00a0Nevada’s capital is\u00a0Carson City. Nevada is officially known as the „Silver State“ because of the importance of silver to its history and economy.
