Ennis is a town in Madison County, Montana, United States, in the southwestern part of the state. The population was 838 at the 2010 census. The town is flanked by Tobacco Root Mountains to the northwest, the Gravelly Range to the southwest and the Madison Range to the east. The town of Ennis was incorporated in 1956. Today, Ennis is a community of 1,000 plus people. Ennis is also a major tourist attraction and angling destination for fly fisherman targeting the rainbow and brown trout that the Madison River is famous for. Our town Ennis, is located in the southwest corner of our state. We are in the Madison Valley which is 4,800 feet above sealevel. Surrounding Ennis are high mountains. Every where you look ,you have spectacular views. The area is rich in history . One hundred years ago there was a gold mining discovery in Virginia City Montana just 14 miles away. Click on our website to see the area. Ennis is also 79 miles north of Yellowstone National Park. Much of our business is from visitors coming from the park. There is also The Madison River flowing past our town. This brings fishermen from around the world to come and try fishing our river. As the owners of the Riverside , my wife and i have many events for you to participate in.You will visit Yellowstone and Virginia City free of charge. Weekly we travel to Bozeman Montana and take the students with a day off to shop and explore.
