Madison is the capital of the state of Wisconsin. The state has over 14,000 lakes. Water sports, ice-boating, and fishing are popular, as are skiing and hunting. The 95 state parks, forests, and recreation areas take up one-seventh of the land. Wisconsin is a leading state in milk and cheese. The chief industrial products of the state are automobiles, machinery, furniture, paper, beer, and processed foods. Among the many points of interest are the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. Travelers can experience artisan cheese and craft beer by visiting the cheese makers and brew masters themselves and touring facilities across the state. Wisconsin Dells is situated in Wisconsin's Heartland, in the middle of the southern half of the state. It's about 115 miles north west of Milwaukee and about 50 miles north of Madison. Wisconsin Dells has been christened “The Waterpark Capital of the World“ for good reason. The community boasts the largest concentration of waterparks in the world including America’s largest outdoor waterpark, the country’s largest indoor/outdoor combination, and the state’s largest indoor waterpark. Several local business owners are credited with pioneering the national indoor waterpark craze. Source: http://www.travelwisconsin.com/central/adams-county/wisconsin-dells
