The City of Aspen is the Home Rule Municipality that is the county seat and the most populous municipality of Pitkin County, Colorado, United States.<\/p>\n

It is a world-class destination with outdoor adventures from skiing to biking, with a flair for arts and culture, but still maintains enough small-town charm for year round residents to call it home.\u00a0 Aspen truly is a unique diamond nestled in the rough of the Rocky Mountains that has a knack for bringing big city features to you in a way that defies ordinary.<\/p>\n

In the late 20th century, the city became a popular retreat for celebrities. Singer John Denver wrote two songs about Aspen after settling there. Both of them popularized Aspen among the countercultural youth of the 1970s as an ideal place to live, and the city continued to grow<\/p>\n

Today the musicians and movie stars have been joined by corporate executives. As a result of this influx of wealth, Aspen boasts the most expensive real estate prices in the United States and many middle-class residents can no longer afford to live there. It remains a popular tourist destination, with outdoor recreation in the surrounding White River National Forest serving as a summertime complement to the four ski areas in the vicinity.<\/p>\n

Transportation to and from the airport is effortless and affordable via ground shuttles, taxis, limousines or local buses. Hotels, shops and restaurants are within comfortable walking distance of most lodges.\u00a0 But should you need a lift, Aspen has many taxis, limos, and hotel courtesy vans that provide service around town. Aspen has an amazing public transportation system.<\/p>\n
