Kansas is a U.S. state located in the Midwestern United States. Its capital is Topeka and its largest city Wichita. Today, Kansas is one of the most productive agricultural states, producing high yields of wheat, corn, sorghum, and soybeans. The climate of Kansas can be characterized in terms of three types: it has humid continental, semi-arid steppe, and humid subtropical. The eastern two-thirds of the state has a humid continental climate, with cool to cold winters and unbearably hot, often humid summers.
