Both the Long Trail and the Appalachian Trail go through Killington. The Long Trailis the oldest long distance trail in the United States. Its 270 mile footpath follows the ridge of the Green Mountains from the Massachusetts border to the Canadian border and offers endless hiking opportunities for the day hiker, weekend overnighter, and extended backpacker. The Appalachian Trail is a scenic 2,175 national trail which runs from Georgia to Maine. Killington is home to some of the most scenic areas of this trail–one being Thundering Falls.
Killington’s reputation as the premier ski resort in New England is legendary. The ultimate event for the Beast of the East was hosting the 2016 Women’s World Cup Ski Race this past November. The World Cup will be returning in 2017 too!!! Since then, Killington is committed to providing the most open terrain, and the best skiing conditions in the East.
